Mang'ang'a Youth Group celebrates 20 years since it was started by school boys in 1995.  As we celebrate 20 years of selfless service to the community, we remember with appreciation the support of Amani UK.  Through the Buy a Gift scheme we have given a lot of hope to many people in the Mang'ang'a community. We supplied bulls and ploughs, a local poultry house and school equipment to support group activities. Indeed many lives have changed due to the support from people in the UK. The group members are now food secure, young children are able to go to school and members and their families have well balanced diets with eggs from the local poultry and vegetables grown in the kitchen gardens.  Income has also been earned from local goats, originally given from Buy a Gift, which have multiplied and passed-on to other members.

The training we have received from Imani staff and the exposure that Imani has given us, has really taken us far. Through the Revolving Fund that Imani started, members have been able to get loans, pay school fees and also do business. The group members have also reached out to non-group members and with the support of Amani UK some wider community members have had houses built for them, foodstuff donated and occasionally one-off school fees support.   To all the people in the UK who have supported Imani, the support has reached us and we are beneficiaries of your support.  We are not able to describe how happy we are with you, indeed we appreciate so much. Our bee-keeping project is giving us income as Imani buys from us and we are quite sure that Imani does that as a result of your support.  May the people in the UK remain in this spirit to help, not only us, but also others.

YUDA ODONGO GROUP SECRETARY.
